RRB Section Controller Recruitment 2026 Notification

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the Short Notification (CEN 03/2026) for the recruitment of Section Controller posts. This recruitment offers 119 vacancies for candidates aspiring to build a career in the Indian Railways.

At present, only the Short Notification has been released. The Detailed Notification is expected on 14 July 2026, which will include complete information regarding eligibility, reservation, medical standards, syllabus, exam pattern, and the online application process.

The online application process is scheduled to begin on 15 July 2026 and will continue until 14 August 2026.

What is the Role of a Section Controller?

A Section Controller is one of the most important operational officers in the Indian Railways. Working from the Control Office, the Section Controller monitors train movements and ensures the safe and efficient operation of railway traffic.

Major Responsibilities

  • Monitoring train movements in assigned railway sections.

  • Coordinating with Station Masters and Loco Pilots.

  • CBAT Weightage: 30%

Candidates must qualify every CBAT test battery individually. Failure in any one battery results in disqualification.
